1. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files saved to your browser when you visit a website. They are used for functions such as keeping your session open, remembering your preferences and running the service securely.
Ivy also uses other browser technologies that serve a similar purpose:
- localStorage: Small pieces of data stored persistently in your browser (such as your theme preference). They stay on your device until you delete them.
- sessionStorage: Temporary data that lives only while the tab is open.
- Service worker and cache: Browser components used so pages open quickly and notifications can be delivered.
2. Types of cookies and storage we use
| Type | Purpose | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary (session) | Signing in, keeping the session open, security | No, required for the service |
| Functional preferences | Theme, language, referral link, interface preferences | No, stays on your device |
| Diagnostics and performance | Error and crash reports, performance measurement | Under legitimate interest |
| Notification subscription | Sending browser notifications | Yes, browser permission is requested |
| Advertising and tracking | Not used | None |
Strictly necessary (session) cookies
These are required for you to sign in and stay signed in. They are set by our authentication provider and the Platform does not work without them. They are not subject to consent; they are essential to providing the service.
Functional preferences
Information such as your theme preference (light/dark), language selection and referral link is stored in your browser's localStorage to personalize your experience. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers for marketing purposes.
Diagnostics and performance data
We use an error monitoring tool to detect faults and improve the Platform. This tool may collect crash and performance data. The purpose is to fix and speed up the product; this data is not used to show you advertising.
What we do not use
We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising, retargeting or personality profiling. There are no social media pixels or ad network tags on the Platform.
3. Third-party cookies
The identity provider we use for sign-in and wallet connection may set its own cookies. When you watch a video, our video infrastructure provider may also use technical data required for playback. These cookies are subject to the relevant provider's privacy and cookie policies.
4. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies. You will usually find the settings here:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
You can delete localStorage data using your browser's "clear site data" option. You can withdraw notification permission from the site settings in the address bar.
However, if you block strictly necessary cookies you may not be able to sign in or use the Platform. If you delete functional data, preferences such as your theme are reset.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page and the update date at the top is refreshed.
