Getting started
How do I create an account?
Sign in from the home page with Google or X. Ivy automatically creates a Kaia wallet for you; you do not need to set up a wallet or store recovery words. You can also connect your own wallet.
What is a wallet, and why do I have one?
Your identity on Ivy and your economic actions (likes, tips, transfers) happen on the blockchain. For this, every account gets a secure embedded wallet. You control it; Ivy does not hold your keys on your behalf.
What is an ivyId?
It is your account's identity on chain and it is created free of charge. Even if your username changes, your ivyId stays the same; your followers, earnings and history are tied to it.
How do I get a username, and why does it cost?
Your username is an ERC-721 NFT; you do not rent it, you own it. Because short names are scarce, the price is tiered by length and all of it goes to the community pool (SharePool):
| Length | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 character | 100,000 KAIA |
| 2 characters | 10,000 KAIA |
| 3 characters | 1,000 KAIA |
| 4 characters | 100 KAIA |
| 5 characters | 10 KAIA |
| 6 and above | 1 KAIA |
You can hold more than one username. Changing your active username is subject to a 30-day waiting period; the ones you do not use can be sold on the username market.
Why do I need to verify my account?
Verification (KYC) keeps out spam and fake accounts, making the space more real for everyone. Interactions such as likes and tips require a verified account. Verification is one-time and costs 10 KAIA; this fee covers the verification provider's cost.
Your identity data is not written to the chain: your ivyId is never sent to the verification provider, and the unique value returned is blinded before it is stored on our server. The chain only sees that this account is verified.
Fees at a glance
All fees are written into the contracts as constants; they cannot be changed later.
| Action | Fee | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Creating an ivyId | Free | None |
| Username | 1 to 100,000 KAIA | SharePool |
| Verification | 10 KAIA (one-time) | Operations wallet |
| Post | 0.005 KAIA | 5% referrer, 95% SharePool |
| Like | 0.005 KAIA | 80% creator, 5% referrer, 15% SharePool |
| Tip | Minimum 0.1 KAIA | 80% creator, 5% referrer, 15% SharePool |
| KAIA transfer | 0.01 KAIA | 100% SharePool |
| Video upload | 0.5 KAIA per minute | SharePool |
| Opening a channel | Starts at 1 KAIA | SharePool |
| NFT collection | 5 KAIA | Platform pools |
| NFT mint | 1 KAIA | Platform pools |
| NFT listing | 0.5 KAIA | Platform pools |
| NFT sale | 2.5% commission | Platform pools |
On top of these, every transaction pays the Kaia network's own fee (gas); this amount is usually far below a cent and goes to the network, not to Ivy.
Posting and interactions
How do I publish a post?
After verification, use the "Post" button to share text, images and video. You can use #tags and @mentions in your content; they turn into links automatically.
Why does a like cost money?
Every like carries 0.005 KAIA. This makes the like meaningful (it cannot be inflated by bot farms) and 80% of the fee goes straight to the creator. Likes are written to the chain and cannot be undone. You cannot like your own post, and you cannot like the same post twice.
What is a tip?
You can send any amount, starting from 0.1 KAIA, to a post you like. 80% of the tip reaches the creator directly.
How does the referral system work?
If you invited someone to Ivy, you receive 5% of the interactions they generate. If there is no referrer, that share goes to the SharePool instead.
Reposts and replies
You can repost to share something on your own feed, or reply to join the discussion. These actions are free.
Earnings
How do I earn as a creator?
Every like and tip you receive arrives in your wallet as KAIA within the same transaction. There is no payout day, minimum threshold or approval process.
What is the SharePool?
All platform fee revenue is collected in a shared pool and distributed to shareholders. Ivy has no company treasury.
How do I get a share?
You acquire a share by burning 1,000,000 IVY. The tokens permanently leave circulation and in return you gain an indefinite right to income from the pool. Distribution happens at least once every 30 days and anyone can trigger it.
What is the income box?
From the income box on the wallet page you can buy shares, see your accrued share and follow distributions.
Video and channels
How do I open a channel?
Your channel sits in your wallet as an NFT. The first channel costs 1 KAIA; further channels on the same account cost 25, 75, 200 and 1,000 KAIA.
What does uploading a video cost?
It is calculated by duration: 0.5 KAIA per minute. The entire fee goes to the SharePool.
How do I earn from video?
A video like is identical to a feed like (0.005 KAIA, 80% to you). On paid video sales and video tips your share is also 80%.
NFT marketplace
What is the difference between a collection and a piece?
A collection is the display case where you gather your work; think of it as an artist's exhibition. A piece (NFT) is each individual work you place in that case. First you create your collection, then you mint pieces into it. You can add as many pieces as you like to a collection.
What does minting cost?
| Action | Fee |
|---|---|
| Creating a collection | 5 KAIA |
| Minting a piece | 1 KAIA |
| Listing for sale | 0.5 KAIA |
| Sales commission | 2.5% |
| Minimum sale price | 1 KAIA |
These fees are fixed in the contract and cannot be raised later.
How do royalties work?
When minting your work you can set a royalty of up to 10%. On every sale after the first buyer, the rate you set is paid automatically to your wallet. This continues no matter how many years pass or how many hands the work changes.
The royalty is set at mint time and cannot be changed afterwards; both buyer and seller see the rate before transacting. Because it uses the ERC-2981 standard, compatible marketplaces outside Ivy can read it too.
What can I do with an NFT I bought?
The piece moves to your wallet and is yours: you can hold it, list and sell it again, or transfer it to another wallet. Ivy has no control over your piece.
Can I make an offer on a piece?
Yes. You can leave an offer below the asking price on a listed piece. The amount you offer is held in escrow by the contract; if the seller accepts, the exchange completes in the same transaction, and if not, you withdraw your offer and get your funds back.
What if I see a stolen work?
The marketplace has a single moderation power: delisting a piece that is stolen or fraudulent. That power sits not with one person but with a multi-signature wallet, and it only closes the listing. Nobody can seize your piece, remove it from your wallet or change its price. Write to us whenever you see suspicious content.
Prompt market
What is the prompt market for?
Writing a prompt that actually works in AI tools is labor too. The prompt market is where you can put your tested, result-producing prompts up for sale; buyers get a recipe known to work instead of starting from scratch.
How do I sell, and how much do I earn?
Listing is free. 80% of a sale is yours, the remaining 20% goes to the SharePool. A prompt's price ceiling is 100 KAIA and that limit is fixed in the contract.
How do I use a prompt I bought?
The full text of the prompt opens to you the moment the purchase completes. You can use it in any tool, as many times as you like. Using a purchased prompt in your own product is fine; copying it as-is and reselling it is not.
Games
Do games cost anything?
No. Games on the Games page are free to play. You do not need a balance in your wallet to play.
Where are ratings and reviews kept?
The rating you give a game and the review you write are recorded on chain. This means ratings cannot be deleted afterwards or inflated in bulk; the average you see is the trace left by people who actually played.
Can I add my own game?
The game catalogue grows by selection for now. If you have built a game you would like connected to Ivy, write to us and we will go through the technical requirements and the process together.
Wallet
Where do I see my balance?
You can view your KAIA and token balances on the Wallet page.
Transfers and swaps
You can send KAIA to another user; a fixed 0.01 KAIA fee applies and all of it goes to the SharePool. Token transfers are free. Swaps are executed through DragonSwap.
How do I bring assets from another chain?
Use the bridge section in the wallet to move assets between supported networks. Bridge transactions are subject to the fees of the networks involved.
How does staking work?
You earn rewards by locking your IVY for a fixed period. There are six options and the rates are fixed in the contract:
| Lock period | Period return |
|---|---|
| 30 days | 1% |
| 90 days | 3.5% |
| 180 days | 9% |
| 360 days | 22% |
| 720 days | 55% |
| 1440 days | 137.5% |
The reward pool (400 billion IVY) was deposited into the contract in advance; staking does not open until the fund is in place.
Security and account recovery
What happens if I lose access to my account?
When you sign in again with your original method (Google/X) you regain access to your wallet and account. Recovery that requires a wallet change is protected by a one-week time lock; during that period your old wallet can cancel the operation.
What should I watch out for?
- Protect the Google/X account you sign in with using a strong password and two-step verification.
- The Ivy team will never ask you for a password, private key or recovery phrase. Ignore any such request.
- Onchain transactions cannot be reversed. Always check the address before transferring.
Common problems
My transaction failed, is my money gone?
No fee is charged on a failed transaction; only the network's gas may have been spent. You can check your balance and transaction history in the wallet.
The like button is not working
There are two common reasons: your account is not verified yet, or your wallet does not hold enough KAIA to cover the fee.
My content is not showing in the feed
Content appears in the feed once the onchain transaction is confirmed; this can take a few seconds when the network is busy. If the problem persists, write to us.
Privacy and your data
What does Ivy know about me?
The basic information that comes from your sign-in method (such as an email address) and the content you create on the platform. If you have verified, your identity document is processed by the verification provider, is not stored by us, and no personal data of yours is written to the chain.
Can I delete my posts?
You can remove your content from the interface. However, the part of something that has been written to the chain (that a like happened, that a payment was made) cannot be undone; that is the nature of a blockchain. So thinking twice before posting is more valuable here than anywhere else.
Can I close my account entirely?
You can request the deletion of your data inside the application. Because your identity sits in your wallet as an NFT, the decision about it is yours as well. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Using brand assets
Can I use the Ivy logo?
Yes. You can use our logo without asking for separate permission when presenting Ivy in your article, integration or community content. Logo files, color codes and usage rules are on the Brand & Press page.
What should I avoid?
Do not stretch, rotate or recolor the logo, and do not make it part of your own logo. Most importantly: do not create the impression that something was produced, approved or endorsed by Ivy. The brand name is always written as Ivy.
I have a press request
Write to us directly for interviews, special usage permission or partnerships.
